This beautiful spot is just behind the Portage Point Inn. In the distance,
you can see the bluffs beyond Arcadia.

Lake Michigan in February. You can access
the lake and beach from a Public Access near
the light house and pier and walk for miles.

This is a great beach for swimming and evening bonfires in summer. Every July 4th, several families launch fireworks from this beach. You can watch them ~ plus the City of Manistee’s official fireworks show ~ from the Master Bedroom deck, a premiere spot for viewing.

Most winter days you can have
the beach all to yourself for
long walks in solitude.

Wind and wave action create
amazing snow and ice
formations throughout the
season.

This year, as far as you could
see, the beach was covered
with thousands of ice ball
(some as large as volleyballs).
