The Robert Manning Memorial Lighthouse was established in 1991 on the public beach in Empire, Michigan. It is a lovely cylindrical light composed of stucco and wood. Although this light is classified as "active", it was never intended for navigational purposes. It was built to honor Robert H. Manning, a longtime resident of Empire. His wish was to have a light at the shore to illuminate his course after fishing trips. It is open to the public in the public park. |
