Driving Directions: I-75 to Wilder Road Bay City, follow Wilder to River. Turn north to lighthouse, Near power plant.

Saginaw River Rear Rangewas established in 1841, and replaced by the stucture that currently stands in 1876. It is on the west bank of the mouth of the Saginaw River. The square/integral structure is made of brick and is accessible by boat, but is inactive and under private ownership. The light is 68 feet tall. This light has an exceptional story: The "Range Light" concept was first created here by the keeper's 15 year old son. He set up a system in which two lights were sent out that the captain of a ship could set his sights on, and once lined up, they would be guided through the river. It is now a system that is used worldwide.
