Old Mackinac Point was established in 1892, and is located southeast of the foot of the Mackinac Bridge. It is a round tower with a dwelling attached to it. It was originally constructed in 1890 to signal fog, with the light being added in 1892. It was deactivated in 1957, and currently serves as a maritime museum, and has been proposed as the site for a national lighthouse museum. |
