The newest course at Lakewood Shores Resort, also designed by Kevin Aldridge, continues the tradition of giving golfers a unique golfing experience. The Blackshire was designed to recreate the look and feel of the famous Pine Valley C.C. in New Jersey. Although not a replica of Pine Valley, it does offer golfers a similar rugged and natural feel. Cut through the hardwoods & pines, you encounter large sand waste areas along the fairways, trees and greens giving the Blackshire a much different look than your typical Northern Michigan course. Encompassing less than 200 acres, it has a classic turn of the century design and feel. Short walks from greens to tees also make it a classical walking experience if desired. The "Wee Links" is a complete pitch and putt course. Also, a driving range, restaurant, bar, snack bar with golf packages and instruction available.
